Privacy policy
Short and without detours: what happens to your details when you request a guide or book a call.

Who processes your data
Pieter Van der Auwera, trading as Ad Astra, based in Deurne, Antwerp, Belgium. Questions or a request about your data: hello@pietervanderauwera.com. You will get an answer within thirty days.
What we collect, and only that
When you request a guide, you fill in:
- your first name
- your email address
- for some guides, your company name and your annual ad budget as a band, for example 300,000 to 500,000 euro
- whether you want the newsletter, as a separate box that starts unticked
The form also records which page you came in on, which site sent you, and any campaign parameters in the link. That is to know which guide and which channel works, not to follow you across other websites.
There is no advertising pixel on this site, no tag manager and no share button that watches. The only external connection a page makes is to a font.
Why, and on what basis
- Sending the guide and opening the download: performing what you asked for. Without an email address we cannot deliver it.
- Follow-up emails about that one guide: legitimate interest, and every one carries an unsubscribe link.
- The newsletter: only with your consent, through the box you tick yourself. Leave it unticked and you will not get it.
- Knowing which guide and which channel works: legitimate interest, on as little data as possible.
Where your data goes
Your details are not sold and not rented. They go to the services needed to deliver the guide and the follow-up:
- the hosting provider running this site
- an automation service that passes the request to the mail sequence
- a mail service that sends the guide and the follow-ups
Exactly which services those are depends on what is connected at the time. If you want the current list by name, ask at the address above and you will get it.
How long
- Your email address and the fields you filled in: until you unsubscribe or ask for deletion.
- The origin data of a request: two years, after that only as a figure with nothing of yours attached.
- Server logs from the hosting: short, and managed by the hosting provider.
Cookies
This site sets one cookie, and it is one that has to be there.
- `lms_dl`: proves you signed up, so the guides stay open. It lasts a year, only the server can read it, and it holds nothing about you beyond a signed expiry date.
A cookie strictly needed to deliver what you asked for does not require a consent banner. That is why there is none.
If analytics that does require consent is switched on later, the banner comes with it and this text is updated first.
Your rights
You can ask for access, correction, deletion, restriction, object to processing, and ask for your data in a readable file. One email to hello@pietervanderauwera.com is enough, and you do not need to give a reason.
Consent for the newsletter is withdrawn with the unsubscribe link at the bottom of every email, or with a mail to the same address.
If you are unhappy with how it goes, you can complain to the Belgian Data Protection Authority, Drukpersstraat 35, 1000 Brussels.
Changes
This policy was last changed on 2026-10-05. If anything material changes about what we collect or where it goes, this text is updated before that change takes effect.
